What to Wear?
Here at The Putney Pole Studio we want our students to feel as comfortable as possible. However due to the nature of Pole and for your own safety we advise that shorts be worn for the Pole component of the class. This is for the simple reason that bare skin allows for a more trusted grip on the pole. Leggings and joggers are fine for the warm up and cool down. Class is taught in bare feet but trainers are advised for the warm up. Be sure to bring a towel and plenty of water!
Is it dangerous?
As with any sport, Pole Fitness carries an element of risk. Although it is the policy of The Putney Pole Studio to encourage it's students to push themselves, the company is resolutely dedicated to safe pole practice. Luckily our small classes mean that students are constantly under expert supervision and students will never be pushed unrealistically beyond their strength and ability. Please note that students will be asked to agree to waiver of liability /disclaimer at the time of booking.
Will I get Bruises?
In a word - Yes! After your pole class you can expect to feel a few aches and pains and indeed have some bruising. Pole is an intensive workout and no doubt you will have worked muscles you have rarely used before. We normally find a hot bath and a dab of Arnica cream does the trick!
